Characters!

I decided to have a stab at creating what I think the characters look like using Sims 3.

There will be more characters later on but here are the current ones.

Georgia. They didn't have the right hair but this was close enough.

Chapter 6

"I can't wait till we have our own cars so we don't have to get driven to school."
This was all I heard from Josh all morning. All through breakfast and the ride to school. Mum just shook her head and smiled at me. My stomach was already a mess of knots and butterflies so I just smiled weakly back at her and played with my bracelet.

Mum knew how embarrassed Josh would be if she let us out right out front so she pulled into a parking lot about a block from the school.
"Ok kids, have a good day, I'll be here at 2:30 to pick you up."
Josh got out and shut his door and waited for me.
"Georgie, you going to be ok?" she asked turning around to look at me.
I gave her the best smile I could muster and told her I was going to be fine. Then I slipped out of the van.

Josh and I only shared 1 class, Biology, which also happened to be the first that day. We walked to class together and even though I tried hard not to look at anyone directly I could tell people were staring at us. We were the new kids. We were from a different place. Plus my brother is hard to ignore. I was happy that he was with me, I was sure being with him I was basically invisible.

Our Biology teacher, Mrs Bell, was very nice. She introduced us to the class and let us sit down. As I scanned the room for an empty spot I saw Liam towards the back and he waved to me and pointed to an empty place next to him. I quickly slid onto the stool and watched Josh chose his place next to a pretty blonde who was beaming at him. I rolled my eyes and turned back to the front.

Mrs. Bell cleared her throat and everyone was quiet. "Liam, Britney I hope you will help out your new lab partners with anything they need." She then started writing on the board.
"I hope your brother is good at Biology." Liam whispered to me. He must have realised I didn't know what I meant by the look I gave him.
"Britney used to be my lab partner but Mrs. Bell split us up so you & Josh wouldn't have to be partners. She kind of relied on me to do everything." he said with a wink. And he smiled at me again.

At that moment what mum had said to me the other night came back to me. She thought he was cute. I took in what he actually looked like while he got out his text book. He had dark brown hair that was neatly parted to the side, not too long not too short. He was wearing a button down plaid shirt and tan pants. I couldn't see his shoes under the bench, but for some reason I guessed they would be brown.

His clothes seemed really conservative compared to the other boys. They wore baggy or torn jeans, black t-shirts or studded belts. I also noticed that compared to the girls I was pretty conservative too. Most of them wore skinny jeans or short skirts. My skirt was to my knees.

The lesson mainly consisted of Mrs. Bell going over our lesson plans for the semester and our homework assignments. Liam talked to me about the school etc. I got the feeling he was keeping the conversation light on purpose. I wondered if he could tell how nervous I was. He offered to walk with me to our next class, English, which we also had together. I wondered what Josh would think of that. Before I even had a chance to consider his reaction the bell rang.

"Come on Josh, I'll show you where your next class is." came the high pitched voice belonging to Britney. I looked around and saw her grab his hand and drag him out of the classroom. I was so glad that Liam and I were the last people in there because the giggles that erupted out of my at that were embarrassing.
"Wow, your brother is a goner now." Liam laughed with me. That set me off again. We were still laughing when we got to English.

liam introduced me to our English teacher Mr Newman who looked too old to be a teacher. And he wasn't as friendly as Mrs Bell. He pointed to a desk that turned out to be on the opposite side of the room to Liam's. I sat down and looked over at my only friend. He shrugged and sat down.

I watched the rest of the students file and most of them gave me the once over and that was it. A girl with short black hair sat down in front of me and turned around to face me.
"You're the Australian girl right?" she asked me, almost shouting. I noticed that all eyes were on us then.
"Yeah that's me." I mumbled, turning red. I could feel how hot my face had gotten.
"I'm Cara. I actually live near you. The house with the red barn? You should sit with me at lunch!"

I can't remember much of the class, all I would think about was trying to get out of sitting with this girl at lunch. I studied the back of her head as the teacher droned on about something, trying to come up with excuses. I realised she had blue streaks in her black hair and she was dressed almost like a punk. Totally not the normal girls I would hang around. But I couldn't think of any way to get out of it. I had no one else to sit with. Liam hadn't offered for me to sit with him and there was no way I was going to sit with my brother.

When the bell rang I still didn't have an excuse so I had no choice but to follow her. She kept asking me questions the whole way to the cafeteria but she wouldn't even pause to let me answer. She asked me about music, movies, TV shows. I turned around at one point and realised Liam was right behind us, shaking his head. I looked at him, almost pleading for him to help me but he just shrugged. Great.

I followed her to a table at the far end of the cafeteria where about 4 other people were sitting. 2 boys and 2 girls. Cara introduced me to all of them, Laura, Shuana, Glen and Blake. I recognised the girls from my Biology class.
"Your brother is cute." Laura said. Shuana laughed. They giggled to themselves and pretty much ignored me after that. The boys were quiet. I noticed them looking at me from time to time, which made me even more nervous.

I saw Josh sitting with Britney across the room. I was a little more relaxed knowing he was close by. Cara started up her tirade of questions again. She was sitting across from me and I just kind of zoned out and stared at the clock on the wall behind her. I didn't even notice when someone sat down beside me.

"Wow Cara, I think you may have bored her into a coma." a deep voice broke into my haze. I turned to the source of the voice and was staring into the bluest eyes I had ever seen. I couldn't talk. I literally had lost my words.
"God your such a jerk. Georgia, this is my brother, Dean."
"Are you ok?" the voice asked again. My hand was on my thigh and I actually had to pinch myself to gain control.
"Um uh yeah." Was about all I could manage. His face went from concerned to delighted and he smiled the most gorgeous smile I had ever seen. He turned to Cara and reached across and took her apple.

While they argued over the ownership of fruit I took a moment to regain my composure. And to take in the vision next to me. Dean. Brother of Cara. Owner of the bluest eyes in the world and sexiest smile in the universe. Also he had a mess of black hair that didnt' seem to have any kind of style but worked so well. When I think back now I still cannot remember what he was wearing.

"So Georgia, your family are our new neighbours?" Dean asked smiling that smile again.
It took all of my concentration to form the one word I was able to form.
"Yes."
"Your brother," he motioned towards Josh "He isn't in any of my classes."
"He's not a senior Dean." Cara interrupted him.
"What he is younger than you?" He looked at me in shock.
"They are twins." Cara exclaimed.
"Cara, would you let her talk!" Dean glared at her. I went bright red.
"I'm sorry Georgia but my little sister likes to dominate the conversation. I think its to make up for her size. Twins huh. Well you sure don't look alike, thank god."
With that he picked up Cara's apple and took a bite.
